Membership

The Town and County Club is as committed now as in 1925 to create "an organized center for women’s work, thought and action." Advancing the interests of women and promoting science, literature and the arts were core goals for these pioneering and visionary women of the Hartford region.

Today, with the addition of men as members and a wider geographic reach, the T&C continues to attract members to a welcome haven from offices and other commercial spaces; it is a place where members bring guests and colleagues for meals and private meetings.

In the congenial setting of our historic 1895 house at 22 Woodland Street, members relax over a meal, talk leisurely or engage in group activities: bridge, books, languages, current events, classic films, stimulating programs or opportunities to serve our community.

As a city club, the T&C does not have sports-related amenities of a country club. Instead, our membership of more than 400 accomplished women and men are attracted to the T&C by shared interests with new and old friends and by the unique appeal of its house, fine dining, elegant ballroom and charming guest rooms.

We encourage applications for membership. As our first president said in 1925, “We are a pleasant place where we may go freely and meet pleasant people and different points of view."  We invite your inquiry.
